for us art students

"The work of the art student is no light matter. Few have the courage and stamina to see it through. You have to make up your mind to be alone in many ways. We like sympathy and we like to be in company. It is easier than going it alone. But alone one gets aquainted with himself, grows up and on, not stopping with the crowd. It costs to do this. If you succeed somewhat you may have to pay for it as well as enjoy it all your life." -Robert Henri

I dont know if there are better words to sum up being an art student, learning about art and creating art is the most intoxicating experience it grabs onto your entire life. You enjoy it and the next day you wish that what you really wanted, was to be was a teacher or secretary or anything else really... life would be simpler that way.
Oh but art is rarely simple, it is hard work and it is nearly my entire life.
. I love it.

Brynna DeSanti

Looking at my blog it would seem that I am trying to be a photographer,
I just want to point out that I am certainly not!
I need to put more of my paintings and prints on my blog... that just requires more time!
Brynna is perhaps the most beautiful girl in the world... and a magnificent sister.

Enjoy

Jaxon Eric Ward

I can't believe my Leesh Keesh Bageesh had her baby, he is 7.1 lbs and 19.5 inches long. Her and BJ had him last night. I went over to the hospital and held their  little guy and may have fallen in love with him. He has the most perfect face and he was so alert and calm. I am so excited for my cousins!
BJ already is a good Dad he held Jaxon with perfect confidence and love, and Alisha was as graceful and kind as always.  I love them so all so much.
Here are some incredibly quick pictures of little Jaxon.

.Art. Art. Art.

It's an interesting phenomenon, feeling art grow inside me. Cliche ofcourse, but not untrue. It must not make any sense to the non-artist. But I can feel art weave inside me and pull at emotions and knit into who I am. I love it so much, and at the same token wish for it to be gone. Before I fell in love with art I could relax, and be mundane. There is no room for that in art, because art is life. Art soaks up everything around it and you have to create.
Its a fascinating and frustrating thing, I love it and wouldn't leave its side for a second.

"Artists don't get down to work
until the pain of working is exceeded
by the pain of not working."
-Stephen DeStaebler

Akiyah Tisamoana Eva Allred-Broadus

This girl makes me so happy, we have to much fun together. Akiyah is my friend, my niece and my little sister. I love her so much, I love to tease her and cuddle her and play with her. I would do anything for those big brown eyes.

She loved painting, total focus and dedication as she painted. She was so infatuated with it. She started painting with definate colours and strokes and soon everything blended together to a pukey colour.
I wish she could have stayed here forever, she loved Idaho and I loved having her in Idaho. It was so fun having Brittany and Akiyah here, surreal really. There is nothing like having a sister, nobody understands you like your sister.
She has made such a beautiful daughter. I love them both!

haha I had to title this Akiyah's full name, whenever I use her full names she smiles at me and says; "Nooooooooooo, Akiyah Alllllred."

so here is "Akiyah Alllllred."

Art & Fear

Art Readings, oh they are inspiring and insightful and well hard to read because you sit down to read and then immediately you feel inspired and want to go paint instead of read. Its hard to get much done, but it is fabulous.

Here is a taste of the lovely art reading;

"You make good work by (among other things) making lots of work that isn't very good, and gradually weeding out the parts that aren't good, the parts that aren't yous. It's called feedback, and it's the most direct route to learning about your own vision. It's also called doing your work. After all, someone has to do your work, and you're the closest person around."

I love learning about art, the history and the commonality that is weaved through artists over time and through styles and mediums.

So there is my art thought for the day.

enjoy the day!
enjoy all the art and beauty around you!
